Tutor-Saliba Corp. said that it has been awarded contracts for three large construction projects worth a combined $291 million, including two in Los Angeles County.

The Sylmar-based general contractor said over the weekend that the projects will include construction of a new student campus center at the University of Southern California ($102 million); the Pier A West project in Long Beach ($67 million), and replacement of a maintenance pier at Naval Air Base Kitsap in Bremerton, Wash. ($122 million).

The 151,000-square-foot Student Campus Center will house a number of university offices, including the new admission center and the Epstein Family Alumni Center. It is being built on the current site of the Commons and the Topping Student Center and an area immediately north, integrating with the existing student union and bookstore.

On April 2, Tutor-Saliba agreed to be acquired by publicly-traded Perini Corp, which is based in Framingham, Mass. The transaction has been structured as a tax-free, all-stock merger, valued at $862 million based on Perini’s closing price of $38.10 on April 1.
