In a sign that SAG may be willing to step out of stall mode, negotiators for the guild and the majors have agreed to a meeting on Wednesday.
The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers announced Tuesday that SAG’s negotiators have requested a “sidebar” meeting with the AMPTP involving a small group of people from each side.
It will be the first get-together between the congloms and SAG since Thursday, when the two sides held an unproductive session. The companies have insisted that they’re not going to improve their two-week-old final offer, which matches the AFTRA, DGA and WGA deals, while SAG insisted it must achieve better terms.
