Northrop Grumman Corp. said it has won a $15.5 million order for the fifth year of a five-year contract to provide technical help on navigation systems installed on U.S. Navy ships and submarines.

The Naval Inventory Control Point award to Los Angeles-based Northrop’ Sperry Marine unit includes help on three separate navigation and submarine radar systems and funding for initial support of steering systems on guided-missile destroyers.

Sperry Marine, based in Charlottesville, Va., provides navigation and ship-control technology.

“Over the past four years of this PBL contract, Sperry Marine has established an outstanding record of performance,” said Jeff Holloway, director for Sperry Marine’s U.S. defense business development, marketing and sales, in a statement. “We have consistently achieved 100 percent on-time delivery to surface and submarine forces under this contract.”
