Simulations Plus Shares Hit by Q2 Report

Simulations Plus Inc. shares were hit Tuesday after the software company reported dips in profit and sales for its second quarter.


The Lancaster-based maker of software for use in pharmaceutical research reported second quarter net income of $564,809 (3 cents per share), a 15 percent decrease from $667,856 (4 cents) in the same period a year earlier.


Sales also decreased 14 percent to $2.2 million.


The company said that a large re-order that fell in the second quarter last year was made in the first quarter this year skewing the results. Simulations Plus reported a 233 percent surge in net income along with a 40- percent surge in sales in January.


Shares in Simulations Plus were down 12 percent to $1.99 in early trading Tuesday.
