Colleen Neilson has been promoted to project executive at hospitality interior design firm Cole Martinez Curtis and Associates in Marina del Rey. Neilson was previously senior associate at CMCA.

Chaya Donne has been named director of sales and marking for Omni Los Angeels Hotel at California Plaza. Donne was previously director of sales and marketing at the Omni Tucson National Golf Resort & Spa.


Venable LLP, a national law firm, has hired Michael B. Garfinkel as a partner for its Los Angeles office. Garfinkel was previously a partner with Rintala Smoot Jaenicke & Rees LLP, a Los Angeles-based litigation firm.

Bernard M. Resser has joined Rutter Hobbs & Davidoff Inc., a business law firm based in Century City, as an attorney. Resser most recently served as principal at Berman Mausner & Resser, a Los Angeles-based business law firm.


Deutsch Inc., a marketing communications agency, has promoted Scott Hidinger and Mark Moll to vice presidents and associate creative directors at its Los Angeles office. Hidinger most recently served as senior art director. Moll was previously senior copywriter.


Access 360 Media, a youth-oriented media network, has named Bill Powers as executive vice president of network advertising sales. Powers was previously executive vice president of


AbilityFirst, a non-profit organization providing programs and services to children and adults with disabilities, has appointed Angela J. Reddock as chairwoman. Also, Steve Brockmeyer, Philip S. Hart, George A. Ramirez and Ernest "Ernie" J. Strobel were elected to the board. Reddock is a partner and head of the Los Angeles office employment law practice group for Carroll Burdick & McDonough LLP. Brockmeyer is president and chief executive of Bolton Co., an insurance company headquartered in Pasadena. Hart is executive director of the Urban Land Institute Los Angeles District Council. Ramirez is senior vice president and market president for Union Bank of California's community banking and investment services group. Strobel is president of specialists in Long Term Care Insurances Services Inc.

Jennifer J. Thornton-Davis has been elected chairwoman of the Gems and Jewelry Committee of the American Society of Appraisers, an international valuation association that teaches, tests, accredits and refers professional appraisers. Davis is owner of In Depth Appraisals in Encino.

Upward Bound House, a Santa Monica-based social service agency providing housing for homeless families with children and low-income seniors, has named David Snow as executive director. Snow was formerly a business consultant based in Los Angeles.


Shawn Hunter has been named president and chief executive of Club Deportivo Chivas USA. Hunter was previously chief marketing officer and president of AEG Sports at Anschutz Entertainment Group.


The Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners has promoted Doug Sereno to director of program management division at the Port of Long Beach. Sereno most recently served as deputy chief harbor engineer.
