Update:

In June we made a major acquisition, SnapNames.com, a leader in the secondary market for domains. It enables us to support the entire life cycle of domain name procurement, monetization and sales. In fact, we just announced that we’re launching SnapNames Live, a live auction system for premium domain names. On the marketing services side, also known as our lead generation business, we operate Low.com, a consumer finance portal, and LowFares.com, a travel comparison site. Additionally as a leader in the domain industry, it is important for us to educate, share knowledge, build new ideas and explore new avenues while helping to set standards for the industry. We have expanded our multiday conference, Domainfest Global, and will be hosting the upcoming January conference in Hollywood.

Early Days/Financing:

Oversee was funded with $10,000, mostly in credit card debt. The company grew profitably without outside funding for six years. In 2007, Oversee established a $60 million, five-year secured revolving-credit facility. A syndicate of lenders and financial institutions participated in the facility with Banc of America, including Comerica Bank, California Bank & Trust and Silicon Valley Bank.

Key to Growth:

Our business is based on science and mathematics. For example, the algorithms we develop give us insight into consumer behavior on the Internet. We work toward well-defined goals and milestones, but are still very agile and able to refocus attention where it is needed at a moment’s notice.

Biggest Challenge:

I think the biggest challenge is deciding what avenues to pursue because there are so many options available.

Secret of Success:

I say it again and again: It is really the people and their commitment to our growth that makes us all successful. We have a very open culture, one that encourages personal growth.
