A handful of people were injured at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom Tuesday afternoon after a portion of the ride malfunctioned.

In all, six people, including one Disney employee, were injured while evacuating the Kali River Rapids attraction at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom park in Orlando.

The injuries were reported as “non-emergency” injuries and occurred when a sensor for the water ride, which simulates a boat ride down a rainforest river, malfunctioned. Guests on the ride were advised to exit the ride on a moving platform adjacent to their boats, which would take them to an exit. The injuries occurred when the platform malfunctioned. Disney did not provide any additional details.

The injured were taken to nearby hospitals where it was reported that one of the guests had sustained a broken arm.

Shares in Burbank-based Disney closed down 44 cents to $35.59 in trading Tuesday on the New York Stock Exchange and were up 4 cents in afternoon trading Wednesday.
