Obituary: Jim Warren of BRC Imagination

Jim Warren, the chief operating officer of Burbank-based BRC Imagination Arts, died on May 12 from cancer. He was 59.


Warren spent 14 years working for BRC, an experience design company that creates exhibits and attractions, where he was responsible for day-to-day management and overall growth.


During his tenure at the company, it grew from 20 to 80 employees and expanded to locations in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. BRC worked on projects for the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, Adler Planetarium, Disney, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, NASA, Universal Studio and the Empire State Building. The firm was honored with two Academy Award nominations and 12 THEA awards, industry honors for achievement.


Prior to joining BRC, Warren worked for 22 years in various positions in commercial construction and interior design. For leisure, he was a pilot and stunt aviator.


Warren is a graduate of the University of Southern California and the United States International University. He is survived by his wife, Christie, and two sons, Steve and Daniel. A memorial service will be held on May 19 at 2 p.m. at the Santa Paula Airport.
