Southwest Water Co. said Friday that it has acquired Diamond Water Co. and Water Services Inc., both just outside of San Antonio.

“This acquisition extends our footprint in the high-growth area around San Antonio,” said Southwest Water Chief Executive Mark Swatek.

The deal adds 14 water systems that serve approximately 7,500 residents northwest of San Antonio, the Los Angeles-based utility company said. No financial terms of the deal were released.

Shares in Southwest Water were up 25 cents, or nearly 2 percent, to $13.94 in afternoon trading Friday on the Nasdaq.
