RBZ LLP, a Los Angeles-based accounting and consulting firm, has promoted Ken Coelho to partner-in-charge of the firm's business management subsidiary. Coelho was previously managing director of the company's business management practice.


Michael Kim, Michele MacCracken and Neal Vincent have been promoted to senior vice presidents and associate principals of HKS Inc. Kim, MacCracken, and Vincent were formerly vice presidents with the company.

Banking & Finance

Stuart MacFarlane has joined Momentum Venture Management, a venture capital company specializing in technology startups, as managing director. MacFarlane was previously the founder and chief executive of Insider Pages, a search engine backed by Sequoia Capital, Softbank Capital and Idealab.

City National Bank has promoted Salvador Mendoza to vice president and manager of its community reinvestment department. Mendoza was most recently vice president and community reinvestment sales officer at the bank.

Eduardo Repetto has been promoted to chief investment officer at Dimensional Fund Advisors, a Santa Monica-based asset management company. Repetto was previously the head of research.


PCL Construction Services, a general contractor, has named Bob Martz to the board. Martz is currently regional vice president at the company.

Parsons, a company that builds and designs water and transportation facilities and infrastructure, has hired Eliza Jane Whitman as engineering manager for its Parsons Water & Infrastructure Group. Whitman was most recently manager of planning and water resources for the Inland Empire Utilities Agency in Chino.

Hank Goldsmith has been promoted to vice president of Clune Construction Co., a commercial contractor specializing in renovations and interiors. Goldsmith was senior superintendent at the company.


Terence Lawrence has joined Spectrum Strategies, a planning and management consulting firm, as program manager. Lawrence was previously at Harley Ellis Devereaux as director of construction administration for the West region.


Kesa Tsuda has been named senior vice president, worldwide human resources for Sony Pictures Entertainment, a subsidiary of Sony Corp. of America. Tsuda was previously the vice president of human resources at Idealab, a business incubator based in Pasadena and Boston.


Port of Los Angeles has promoted Michael DiBernardo to director of marketing. DiBernardo was formerly the director of planning for Port of Los Angeles.


Holland & Knight LLP has promoted Susan Booth to leader of the company's West Coast real estate practice group and Amanda Monchamp to deputy practice group leader for the public policy and regulation group. Booth and Monchamp were partners with the firm.

Trudi Sabel Schindler has joined Los Angeles law firm Reish Luftman Reicher & Cohen as an associate. Schindler was most recently an associate with Hinojosa & Wallet in Los Angeles.

Loeb & Loeb LLP has hired James S. Williams as a partner in the corporate department. Williams was formerly a partner at Davis Shapiro Lewit & Hayes.

Nixon Peabody LLP has named David Tamman a partner in its business practice. Tamman was previously an attorney with Liner Yankelevitz Sunshine & Regenstreif in Los Angeles.


Ascent Media Group has hired Herb Brady as vice president of media services for its Digital Media Data Center facility. Brady was previously the president of distribution services at Technicolor.

Donna Arrogante has joined AvatarLabs, a motion graphics and online design studio, as online media designer. Arrogante previously freelanced for the company as a designer.


David Hiller was named a member of the board of directors for United Way of Greater Los Angeles. Hiller is currently the president, publisher and chief executive of the Los Angeles Times newspaper.

Optimist Youth Homes & Family Services, a non-profit education center for at-risk youth, has promoted Mary Frances Hudson to clinical director of residential-based services and James Gibson to director of mental health programs. Hudson was formerly the director of mental health programs for the non-profit. Gibson was manager of the aftercare program.

Real Estate

George Smith Partners Inc., a commercial real estate investment banking firm, has appointed Wayne Choi as senior vice president. Choi was previously senior vice president with U.S. Bank.

Cushman & Wakefield's Global Consulting Group, a designer of real estate solutions and platforms, has appointed Michael O. Cissell as executive managing director and Robert E. Rosenthal as senior managing director of its portfolio consulting practice. Cissell was formerly executive vice president of Colliers Corporate Solutions Group. Rosenthal was most recently vice president of real estate strategies for Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.


Warner Bros. Consumer Products, a licensing and retail merchandising company owned by Warner Bros. Entertainment Co., has promoted Ana de Castro to senior vice president, business and legal affairs. Castro was formerly vice president of legal affairs for the company.


Premier Partnerships, a sports marketing company specializing in naming rights, has named Jeff Marks vice president and chief operating officer. Marks was previously a founder partner and managing director of Sports Business Ventures.


Mekorma Enterprises, a Los Angeles-based independent software vendor, has promoted Luanne McPherson to vice president of sales. She was most recently the channel sales and marketing manager.
