Equity Strategic Relations is trying to redefine the power lunch with invitation-only monthly meal get-togethers for Hollywood’s power players.

Last month, the Century City strategic relations firm started hosting invitation-only lunch get-togethers for local media, entertainment, financial and political minds and courting a little potential business doesn’t hurt, either. There was a 25-person waiting list for last month’s lunch.

The gatherings take place at Equity’s offices in Century City and have so far drawn execs from companies including Capitol Records, William Morris, Fox Searchlight, Goldman Sachs, Universal Vivendi and Reveille Entertainment.

“We wanted to do something fun, something more interesting than a typical panel discussion, and something that attracts influential people,” said Equity’s Christina Martin of the lunch series.

Martin said there are plans in the works to expand the luncheons to New York and have them evolve into salon-type gatherings.
