A $1 billion development boom in downtown over the past few years has given the city notoriety as one of Southern California s last affordable seaside communities.


In fact, it has been suggested that you can retire Jay Hogan works on the top floor of the West Ocean Towers on Ocean Boulevard. Prime parcels of waterfront land ready for development are getting harder to come by.


Long Beach s old Iowa by the sea mantle for something like the new San Diego.
