International Rectifier Corp. has fired Chief Financial Officer Michael McGee, the El Segundo semiconductor manufacturer disclosed Monday in a regulatory filing.

Robert Grant, an executive vice president for global sales, also resigned. The company did not state in its filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission whether the dismissal was connected with an investigation of accounting irregularities International Rectifier reported earlier this year.

Linda Pahl, 46, was named acting chief financial officer while Chief Executive Alexander Lidow will temporarily replace Grant. The moves occurred Sunday, the company said.

In April, International Rectifier said its results for the previous year could no longer be relied upon due to “premature” recognition of sales and that it would restate its earnings for the previous year. No specifics were given about the matter and the company has yet to file a quarterly report in 2007.

McGee, who was hired in 1990 and became chief financial officer in 1993, made a total of $2.1 million in cash, benefits and restricted stock from 2004 to 2006. He was the fifth highest-paid executive at the company.

Shares in International Rectifier closed up 67 cents, or 1.8 percent, to $37.93 Monday in trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
