On Assignment Inc. said Wednesday that it has appointed James Brill as the company’s chief financial officer effective Jan. 1.

Brill, 55, replaces Michael Holtzman, who resigned for medical reasons in early December.

Brill served as the CFO of privately held Diagnostic Products Corp. prior to its acquisition by Siemens in July of last year.

Brill holds a B.S. degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and an MBA from University of California at Los Angeles.

Shares of On Assignment were up 22 cents to $11.97 in midday trading.
