McGuire Woods LLP has opened a financial services practice in the firm’s newly acquired L.A. office.

Three former Jenkens & Gilchrist LLP lawyers, Gary Samson, Matthew J. Wrysinski and Donald K. Kirkelie, have joined McGuireWoods. The fourth hire, Theodore J. Roper, comes from Hogan and Hartson LLP.

Samson was co-head of Jenkens & Gilchrist’s financial services practice in Los Angeles and Pasadena. He joined McGuire as partner and brings Wrysinski and Kirkelie with him as associates. Roper, who focuses on international trade, corporate and commercial law, will head McGuire Woods’ Japan Practice Group.
