Guess? Inc. said the Securities and Exchange Commission ended an investigation of President Carlos Alberini and doesn’t plan to take any actions against him.

The SEC was investigating Alberini as part of a probe of Alberini’s previous employer Footstar Inc., Los Angeles-based Guess said in a regulatory filing Tuesday. Alberini was Footstar’s was chief financial officer before joining Guess in 2000.

The regulatory agency was looking into accounting problems at Footstar, a Mahwah, N.J.-based discount shoe retailer that in 2003 restated seven years of financial reports and fired its chief executive, Mickey Robinson.
