National Lampoon Inc. said Wednesday that it has entered into a partnership with social networking and online entertainment Web site to produce branded content for the site.

West Hollywood-based National Lampoon said it will create-branded online video content and marketing opportunities across all of its properties for the Web site, which makes money from ad revenue generated by user content. It also shares a portion of the money with the users.

National Lampoon also said it will acquire an equity stake in Capazoo, though no specific financial terms were disclosed.

The first project for the two companies will be an exclusive, Capazoo-sponsored stand-up comedy series.

Shares in National Lampoon surged 4.6 percent to $2.29 in afternoon trading Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange.
