U.S. Bank has promoted Ayub Kathrada to senior vice president in U.S. Bank Commercial Banking and Mandy Kozminske and Robert Wasserman to senior vice presidents in the U.S. Bancorp Community Development Corp. Kathrada was previously vice president with U.S. Bank Commercial Banking. Kozminske and Wasserman were previously vice presidents with U.S. Bancorp Community Development.


Silvia Marjoram has been promoted to regional vice president of American Business Bank corporate headquarters office in Los Angeles. Marjoram was most recently a middle market commercial banker in the greater Los Angeles area.


Entertainment

Ventanazul, the film label recently created by MGM and actress Salma Hayek, has named Juan Davila as director of development, Lumumba Mosquera as head of the company's legal and business affairs and Annie Stewart as vice president of development. Davila is founder of management company Davila & Co. Mosquera was previously senior vice president of business affairs at Weinstein Co. Stewart's production credits include "Leaving Las Vegas," "Cold Creek Manor" and "Timecode."


Health Care

Joseph D. Castano has been named chief financial officer of Reliance Medical Finance, a medical finance company in Beverly Hills. Castano was formerly chief financial officer at Key Health Group, a radiology and pain management network provider in Westlake Village.


Hospitality

Lowe Enterprises Inc. and Destination Hotels & Resorts has appointed Terri A. Haack as executive vice president and managing director for the company's new Terranea Resort, a luxury resort in Rancho Palos Verdes scheduled to open in 2009. Haack is vice president and regional managing director for Destination Hotels & Resorts.


Law

The Los Angeles office of Sidley Austin LLP has promoted Aimee M. Contreras-Camua to partner in real estate practice, Sandra S. Fujiyama to partner in intellectual property litigation practice, Kelly L.C. Kriebs to partner in M & A; and private equity practice, Jennifer A. Ratner to partner in complex commercial litigation practice and Robert M. Stone to partner in financial services/consumer class actions practice. They all were previously associates with the firm.


Media

The Los Angeles Times has named John Arthur as managing editor for the news section and John Montorio as managing editor for the features section. Arthur was most recently page one editor at the Times. Montorio was previously associate editor with the paper.


Non-Profit

Yolie Flores Aguilar has been named chief executive of the Children's Planning Council Foundation Inc. Aguilar was previously chief executive of the Los Angeles County Children's Planning Council. Cheryl Mendoza was named interim chief executive of the Planning Council. She was previously chief operating officer. The Children's Planning Council is a public/private group with the goal of improving the lives of children and their families. The foundation is a separate non-profit group that oversees the organization's finances and staff.


Lisa Gilford has been named board member of Step Up Women's Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women and girls. Gilford is a partner from Weston Benshoof Rochefort Rubalcva & MacCuish LLP, a Los Angeles-based law firm.


The Alhambra Chamber of Commerce has named Victoria Deise Wilson as president. Wilson is senior development manager of Ratkovich Co., a Los Angeles-based real estate development and investment company.


Real Estate

Urban Housing Group, a real estate development company in El Segundo, has named Donald Dreusike as vice president of construction. Dreusike was formerly a consultant to the company.


BentleyForbes, a real estate investment firm, has named Shane Cates to the firm's executive committee. Cates is managing director of acquisitions for the Los Angeles office.


Luke Eskigian has joined Transwestern Los Angeles, a commercial real estate firm, as vice president of construction management. Eskigian was previously senior project manager with Arden Reality Inc. in Los Angeles.


Shipping

The Port of Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners has promoted Gary J. Cardamone to director of construction management. Cardamone was most recently the port's deputy chief harbor engineer in charge of construction management.


Technology

Material Technologies Inc., an engineering and product/service company specializing in technologies monitoring and measuring metal fatigue, has appointed Marybeth Miceli to chief operating officer. Miceli most recently served as a consultant to Material Technologies.


Daniel H. Stone has joined AeroVironment Inc., a developer and producer of unmanned aircraft systems and efficient electric energy systems in Monrovia, as vice president of unmanned aircraft systems logistics operation. Stone was previously commander of the Naval Supply Systems Command, a global enterprise delivering combat capability through logistics to Navy, Marine Corps, Joint and Allied Forces.


Tyler Goldman has been named chief executive of Buzznet, an Internet social networking site. Goldman previously served as president of Feedster, a search engine.


AdStar Inc., an e-commerce transaction software and services company in Marina del Rey, has appointed Ron Stephens to vice president of sales. Stephens was formerly area sales manager for North and South America at CCI Europe, a Danish software company.

KUDOS

Optimist Youth Homes & Family Services has honored Ara Zenobians of Padenena architectural firm Flewelling & Moody for his commitment to educate at-risk youth. A Pasadena resident, Zenobians has been on Optimist's advisory board for eight years and will receive the award on Oct. 24 at the Globe Theater at Universal Studios.


Northwestern Mutual Foundation announced its 25 honorees in the Community Service Award Program. Los Angeles resident Jeremy Dicker, was named an "Outstanding Volunteer" for his involvement with Junior Achievement of California Inc.
