Synergy Expansion: Synergy Workplaces will expand from its Beverly Hills office to open its second Los Angeles area facility in Pasadena. In September, Synergy will open its Pasadena business center, which will provide companies and entrepreneurs with a fully staffed business center they can rent for use. The 17,400-square-foot site with 68 offices will be located in the heart of downtown Pasadena.
Texas Hotel: A Hilton Garden Inn opened in Beaumont, Texas. The hotel, a three-story, 100-room facility is operated by JaiMaha Laxmi Inc. under a license agreement with Hilton Inns Inc., a subsidiary of Hilton Hotels Corp. The Beaumont hotel features a restaurant, business center, fitness center, swimming pool, and four meeting rooms with 2,000 square feet of meeting space.
Land Venture: Canyon Capital Realty Advisors and its affiliate Canyon Capital Advisors has entered a joint venture, River Canyon, with Brian Vail's River West Investments and Riverview Capital Investments, owned by former state Treasurer Phil Angelides. The new ventures will operate from both Los Angeles and Sacramento. It will focus on investment in land ventures and land-owning entities and acquisition of property intended primarily for residential purposes, and plans to develop smart growth projects across the country.
Beauty Entertainment: Salon City Inc., which publishes the nationally distributed Salon City magazine, is finalizing its preparations to launch Salon City Network, a new Internet programming vehicle. SCI is among the leading media companies in beauty entertainment, and Salon City Network will be launched in conjunction with an improved version of the Web site SalonCity.com. The updated site will offer photos, articles, and video content relating to beauty, fashion and lifestyle, and include content from branded entertainment production company Matrixx.
Gallery Premiere: Los Angeles based psychiatrist Jack Barbour, the co-founder of South Central Health and Rehabilitation Programs, has collaborated with artist Marco Antonio Chavez in establishing the Museum Gift Gallery. The Gallery, which was officially launched on July 20, will exhibit 14 sculptures that represent the synthesis of sculpture and psychiatry. Its Museum Gift Gallery is at the LA Mart, 1933 Broadway.
Confectionary Opening: Valerie Confections, an L.A.-based artisanal chocolate company, has opened a production facility and its first retail store on First Street in Silver Lake. The company has sold various chocolates and confections through other retail outlets throughout Southern California and across the country, and through their Web site. The company cited increased demands for their products, which include toffees, chocolates, and other assorted candies, in opening the new facility.
Industrial Sale: The Tri-County office of CB Richard Ellis has assisted in the sale of a large industrial property located at 2101 Corporate Center Drive. Panattoni Development Co. purchased the 49,000-square-foot building from the Wood Family Trust for a price of $7.2 million dollars and plans to convert it into full office use.
