MySpace is the second-most popular Web site for downloading or streaming video content, a study released Wednesday said.

More than 7 billion videos were streamed or downloaded by U.S. Internet users in the month of July, according to the study released buy Reston, Va.-based Internet marketing research firm comScore Media Metrix. That amounts to an average of 67 streams per user, or an average of more than two streams per day.

Yahoo Sites ranked at the top of the list, with more than 106 million video streamers, accounting for three out of every five U.S. Internet users. Santa Monica-based MySpace, which is owned by News Corp., attracted 37.4 million visitors with YouTube close behind at 30.5 million.

The data provides the first concrete method for advertisers, the main funding revenue source for sites like MySpace, to measure traffic and views for advertisements, comScore Media Matrix said.

The company said it plans to release the data publicly on a monthly basis.
