Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. said on Tuesday that it is raising estimates for the third quarter ending September 30.

The Los Angeles-based steel giant said it expects earnings to be between $1.35 and $1.40 per share, which would mark the fourth-straight quarter of record earnings. The current average is about $1.24 per share.

Chief Executive David Hannah attributed the bump to “stronger than expected business conditions in addition to the positive contribution of our most recent acquisition, Yarde Metals,” last month. Reliance will announce third-quarter results October 19.

Reliance shares were up more than $3 a share in early trading Tuesday to $32.25.
