OSI Gets $3.5 Million Contract

OSI Systems Inc. said Monday that its Rapiscan Systems subsidiary has received a $3.5 million order for baggage and parcel inspection X-ray systems.


The Hawthorne-based maker of electronics for the medical and security industries said the order is expected to begin shipping in the second quarter of 2007.


Under the terms of the contract Rapiscan will provide X-ray systems that will be used to screen mail and packages at federal facilities throughout the United States. No other details were released.


Shares of OSI were up 16 cents to $19.04 in early trading Monday.
