Superior Industries International Inc. said Friday that it will close a factory in Johnson City, Tenn., eliminating about 500 jobs.
Van Nuys-based Superior said the closing will result in about $1 million in severance and other costs over the next six months. In February, Superior laid off close to 400 employees from its Van Nuys manufacturing facility in another cost-cutting measure.
Shares in Superior, which is the world’s second-largest maker of automotive wheels, were down 20 cents to $17.09
