Brian Firring followed his father Bob into banking. The two have established a father-son team in the wealth management industry and have joined Wells Fargo Private Client Services' Brentwood office as senior financial consultants.

After getting his bachelor's degree in marketing from Arizona State University, Brian Firring returned to California and worked at a financial consulting agency. He soon found himself teamed up with his father.

"My dad steered me into the business. Once I got my feet wet on my own, I realized it was a great opportunity to join my dad," he said. "Working with family is really a hit or miss. In our case, it's wonderful."

The two worked together at Stone & Youngberg LLC as managing directors, focusing on personal wealth clients. After Brian Firring spent eight years at the boutique firm Bob had been there for 22 years by then they decided to move to a larger shop. Now, instead of focusing on a just a few areas, they handle investments, charitable gifting, retirement, insurance, inheritance and business succession.

"We asked ourselves, 'Over the next 10 to 20 years, where are we going to serve our clients better?' At Wells Fargo, we're surrounded with a team of experts in a range of fields," Brian Firring said. "In a sense, I'm a quarterback who can guide the direction or steer my client toward the right resource. We came here to do more for our clients."

In his new position, Brian Firring handles the portfolios of clients from across the nation. And despite the change to a bigger and more diversified company.

Brian Firring lives in Manhattan Beach with his wife, Jill; son, Jack; and newborn daughter, Brooke. He plays golf and basketball and spends quality time with his family.
