Activision Releases Barbie Games

Activision Inc. said Monday that it has entered into an agreement with Mattel Inc. to produce two adventure games based on the Barbie franchise.


The two games, called “Barbie Diaries High School Mystery” and “The 12 Dancing Princesses,” have already shipped and should be available, Mattel said.


Both games will be available on Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance as well as for PCs and have a suggested retail price of $29.99.


Shares in El Segundo-based Mattel were up 7 cents to $22.57 in early trading while shares in Santa Monica-based Activision were up 18 cents to $15.49.
