Hilton Reaches Hawaii Union Deal

Hilton Hotels Corp. said Monday that it has reached a tentative agreement with Unite HERE on a new contract covering 1,550 employees at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa, Hawaii’s biggest resort.

The agreement is subject to ratification by Hilton’s employees, who are members of the union’s Local 5. The Beverly Hills-based hotel operator promises to improve pay, pension and health care provisions. Specific details will be released after the ratification vote, which is expected later this week.

This tentative agreement will mark the fifth time Hilton and Unite HERE have successfully negotiated a deal this year. Previous agreements were reached in Chicago, New York, Puerto Rico and San Francisco.

Shares in Hilton closed up 20 cents to $28.92 on Monday.
