Crown Media Holdings Inc. said late Thursday that it has sold the domestic rights to its film library to RHI Enterprises LLC. for $160 million.

The sale includes all rights in the United States to more than 600 television movies, mini-series and series in the Crown Media library, who owns and operates the Studio City-based Hallmark Channel among others. International rights to the library were sold last year to a group of investors lead by British television executive David Elstein.

Crown Media will have the right to continue to broadcast selected titles from the library on the Hallmark Movie Channel for up to two years, the Greenwood Village, Colo -based company said. Crown said the proceeds from the sale will be used to pay off debt.
