1st Century Bank, said Thursday that its board has named Randall Hata acting chief financial officer.

Hata previously served as senior vice president and controller and was one of the original management team members when the Century City-based bank was started in 2003. He has headed the finance department since 2004.

Shares in 1st Century were flat at $9 in early trading Thursday.
