Verizon Wireless said Wednesday that it has signed a deal with Revver.com to offer Web-based content via the carrier’s V-Cast video service.
The announcement comes a day after the telecom giant announced a similar deal with YouTube to provide customers with Internet video via cell phones.
The mobile service provided by Los Angeles-based Revver, a Web site that shares ad revenue with people who upload the video clips, will be launched in early December. It will be available for no additional fee on Verizon’s V Cast multimedia download service, which costs subscribers $15 per month or $3 per day.
Revver.com traditionally shows ads at the end of each video clip, but won’t on the V Cast offerings. Verizon also will have exclusive rights to show Revver content on cell phones in the United States.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
