Bloated Corporate Audits Targeted

After over two years looking at whether auditors do enough to watch over U.S. corporations, the chief of the top auditing watchdog says examiners will now look at whether audits go too far.


With businesses complaining loudly of rising audit costs, the acting chairman of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board told Reuters on Friday that examiners will look hard at cost-effectiveness.
