Jones Apparel Group Inc., which owns the Nine West label and Barneys clothing stores, is exploring strategic options including selling the company to private equity firms, a source familiar with the situation said on Tuesday.
Jones, the maker of its namesake clothing and brands including Evan-Picone and Anne Klein, could not be immediately reached for comment.
