CSC Wins $1.5 Billion Army Contract

Computer Sciences Corp. on Monday said it won a contract worth up to $1.5 billion over 10 years to provide the U.S. Army with engineering, logistics and other services.


The El Segundo-based computer services company is one of seven companies to receive the “Strategic Services Sourcing” contracts, which are valued at about $19.25 billion. Under the contract, Computer Sciences will provide its services to the Army Communications-Electronics Life Cycle Management Command in Fort Monmouth, N.J.


Computer Sciences estimated the value of its portion of the award, which has a five-year base period and one five-year option, to be about $1.5 billion if the option is exercised.


Computer Sciences will provide a broad range of services including systems engineering, software development, program management, supply chain management and administrative services for new and existing systems.


Computer Sciences will be working on the contract with companies including ManTech, DRS Technologies and PricewaterhouseCoopers.


Shares of Computer Sciences rose 0.4 percent to settle at $57.12 on Monday.
