A 12-year-old boy, identified as Michael Russell, died Thursday after riding the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Walt Disney Co.’s Disney-MGM Studios park at the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando.

According to Disney, Russell went limp while exiting the ride with his brother, mother. He was later pronounced dead at Celebration Hospital at 11:30 a.m. local time, Disney said. Disney later learned the child died and closed the ride pending an investigation. An inspection of the attraction showed the ride was operating normally, Disney said. The company notified Orange County law enforcement and Florida’s Bureau of Fair Rides Inspection.

The fatality comes two months after the death of a 49-year-old woman who became ill after riding the “Mission: Space” simulation at Walt Disney World. A 4-year-old boy also died in a year ago of an irregular heartbeat due to heart disease after riding the same ride.’
