Grant Thornton LLP, a tax and business advisory organization, has hired James Borella as business development executive at the firm's Woodland Hills office. Borella previously served as business development manager at Jefferson Wells International.
Meyer Architecture, an architecture and interior design firm in Westwood, has hired Lilian Hun as project manager. Hun was project coordinator for the university construction and campus planning department at Pepperdine University.
The Beverly Hills Architectural Commission has selected Walter Meyer to serve in the architectural position on the seven-member panel. Meyer is principal and co-founder of the Meyer Architecture.

Mellon 1st Business Bank has named Jim Dowd executive vice president and chief credit officer of the bank's headquarters in downtown Los Angeles. Dowd was formerly deputy chief credit officer with City National Bank.
Kimihisa Imada has been named executive vice president of Union Bank of California's Pacific Rim corporate group and will also serve as general manager of the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ's Los Angeles branch. Imada recently served as general manager for the Los Angeles and San Francisco branches of the former UFJ Bank.
Indymac Bank has made the following promotions at its corporate headquarters in Pasadena: Bradley Ellis was named vice president of valuation quality assurance; Teri Flores was named first vice president and national operations manager in home construction lending; Stephen Lange was named first vice president of credit, prepay modeling and enterprise risk management; Josh Levine was named first vice president of wholesale lending for its Mortgage Bank and Brian Safechuck was named vice president of corporate recruitment. Ellis was previously assistant vice president; Flores served as vice president; Lange was vice president; Levine was vice president; and Safechuck served as assistant vice president. Also Daniel Hoppes was named chief financial officer and senior vice president of home construction lending; Hoppes was a director at Home Depot.
Steward Partners LLC, a government, entertainment and corporate affairs consultancy, has hired Tiffany Alexander Aldridge as managing director of the sports and entertainment advisory services at its Los Angeles office. Aldridge was recently director of development for the Kanye West Foundation and Rock the Vote.
Cynthia Ordyke has been appointed to director of sales of Pacific Palms Conference Resort in Industry Hills. Ordyke was director of catering and conference services with the resort.
Brown Winfield & Canzoneri Inc., a law firm based in downtown Los Angeles, has promoted the following attorneys to equity shareholders: Bill Pham, Wayne Grajewski, and Wendy Glenn.
Loeb & Loeb LLP, a multi-service national law firm, has hired Karl E. Block as partner in the corporate and restructuring group and Regina I. Covitt as partner in the tax and wealth services department. Block was previously partner with Greenberg Glusker Fields Claman & Machtinger LLP; Covitt was partner at Reish Luftman Reicher & Cohen.

Universal Studios Hollywood has named Mark Mears as senior vice president of marketing and sales. Mears joins the company from Blimpie International, where he served as chief marketing officer.
MySpace Records, an independent music label and partner of Interscope Records, has hired Jon Pikus as director of artists and repertoire at its Beverly Hills office. Pikus was director of artists and repertoire at Columbia Records.
Jeannie O'Malley has joined Blaze as principal and practice leader. O'Malley recently served as vice president at GolinHarris's marketing and brand practice in Los Angeles.
Mike Russell has joined Wald Realty Advisors, a real estate investment advisor, as a principal in the firm's Los Angeles office. Russell was recently vice president at Arden Realty.
SCI Real Estate Investments has promoted Jane Hope to vice president of sales and marketing in the firm's Los Angeles headquarters. Hope was previously regional director for North Carolina and South Carolina with the company.
Studley, a commercial real estate firm, has hired William Robertson as project manager for the West Coast project management services group based in Los Angeles. Robertson recently served as project director for Balance Development.
James Leung has been appointed as director of supply chain for It's A Grind Coffee House, a Long Beach-based specialty coffee franchise. Leung was previously director of purchasing at Robeks Corp.
Pelican Products, a Torrance-based manufacturer of flashlights, has named Matt Miller director of sales for the commercial division and Scott Jones director of sales for national accounts. Miller was formerly a Pelican sales manager; and Jones was national sales manager in the company's commercial division.
