Stocks Mixed on Oil Facility Attack

Stocks finished mixed Friday as investors grappled with the implications of a terror attack against a Saudi Arabian oil processing plant and a surprising decrease in factory orders. The major indexes also ended the week mixed.


The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 7.37, or 0.1 percent, to 11,061.85. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index climbed 1.64, or 0.1 percent, to 1,289.43. The Nasdaq Composite Index gained 7.72, or 0.3 percent, to 2,287.04.

Local movers were led by Occidental Petroleum Corp., which gained 2.6 percent to $92.38, and American Reprographics Co., which rose 7.4 percent to $27.95. On the down side, Molina Healthcare Inc. fell 3 percent to $27.89 and KB Home Inc. lost 1 percent to $69.26.
