reported third-quarter net income of $3.1 million (3 cents per share), compared with $3.4 million (3 cents) for the same period a year earlier. Revenue for the Santa Monica-based film producer and distributor rose 21.3 percent to $231 million from $190.4 million in the year-prior period.


The company cut its full-year net income outlook to $4 million from previous guidance in early December of $15 million due in part to soft home DVD sales.


- K-Swiss Inc. reported fourth-quarter net income of $11.6 million (33 cents per share), compared with $15.6 million (43 cents) for the same period a year earlier. Revenue for the Westlake Village-based footwear maker rose 4.5 percent to $92.3 million from $88.4 million in the year-prior period.


The company expects first-quarter earnings of 63 cents to 68 cents per share on revenue of $148 million to $153 million and full-year earnings of $1.70 to $1.85 per share on revenue of $480 million to $500 million.


- OSI Systems Inc. reported second-quarter net income of $85,000 (breakeven), compared with $2.5 million (15 cents per share) for the same period a year earlier. Revenue for the Hawthorne-based security and inspection systems manufacturer rose 14 percent to $117.1 million from $102.5 million in the year-prior period.


For the second half of fiscal 2006, the company expects revenue of $231 million to $236 million. OSI said it expects to be profitable for the second half of 2006 and anticipates that revenues and earnings will be stronger in the fourth quarter when compared to the third quarter.


- Image Entertainment Inc. reported third-quarter net income of $2.3 million (11 cents per share), compared with $2 million (10 cents) for the same period a year earlier. Revenue for the Chatsworth-based distributor of entertainment DVD titles to retailers rose 13.9 percent to $39.2 million from $34.4 million in the year-prior period.


Third quarter earnings include an 8-cent-per-share charge associated with Musicland Holding Corp.'s bankruptcy filing.


The company expects full-year revenue of $110 million to $113 million. Specific earnings guidance was not disclosed.


- United Online Inc. reported fourth-quarter net income of $12.4 million (19 cents per share), compared with $80.2 million ($1.27) for the same period a year earlier. Excluding a tax benefit of $1.09 per share, net income for the year-ago quarter was $11.6 million (18 cents per share).


Excluding stock-based compensation benefits and a deferred tax assets charge, the company reported fourth-quarter adjusted net income of $18.6 million (28 cents per share), compared with $16.6 million (26 cents) a year earlier.


Revenue for the Woodland Hills-based Internet subscription services provider rose 9 percent to $130.2 million from $119.6 million in the year-prior period.


United Online expects first-quarter revenue of $125 million and $128 million.


- Alexandria Real Estate Equities Inc. reported fourth-quarter net income (before payment of preferred dividends) of $16.2 million (54 cents per share), compared with $15.5 million (58 cents) for the same period a year earlier. Revenue for the Pasadena-based real estate investment trust rose 32.3 percent to $66.1 million from $50.4 million in the year-prior period.


The company reported Funds From Operations of $27.6 million ($1.22 per share), compared with $23.4 million ($1.18) a year earlier.


Alexandria Real Estate expects full-year earnings of $2.35 per share and Funds From Operations of $5.15 per share.


- Farmer Brothers Co. reported second-quarter net income of $4.2 million (30 cents per share), compared with a loss of $4.1 million (30 cents) for the same period a year earlier. Revenue for the Torrance-based coffee roaster and distributor rose 7.3 percent to $55 million from $51.2 million in the year-prior period.
