On Assignment Inc. said Wednesday it plans to buy Vista Staffing Solutions, a privately owned physician staffing firm.

The Calabasas staffing company said it will make the formal announcement of its acquisition of the Salt Lake City firm on Thursday. No other details were released.

Shares in On Assignment closed up 10 cents to $10.79 Wednesday.
