Union Bank of California has named Jeffrey C. Goodrich vice president and senior wealth advisor for its personal trust and investment division in Los Angeles. Goodrich was most recently vice president of private client services at City National Bank.


Downey-based Financial Partners Credit Union has appointed Laura Szitar to vice president of human resources. Szitar previously was Western division director of human resources at the Mentor Network.


Mellon 1st Business Bank has promoted Kim Defenderfer to regional vice president for commercial lending at its Los Angeles headquarters and Vince Cecere to regional vice president of the South Bay office. Defenderfer served as vice president and group manager at the bank; Cecere was vice president and senior relationship manager.


Construction
DMJM H & N;, a Los Angeles design and construction management company, has announced the following personnel moves: Ray Landy was named chief executive, Jim Royer was named chief operating officer of parent company Aecom and Deborah Klem was named chief financial officer. Also, the company hired Tracy Barrow as executive vice president for strategic programs and operations. Landy maintains his role as president; Royer was previously chief executive; Klem served as chief financial officer of DMJM Aviation and business manager for DMJM Design; and Barrow was strategic real estate planning project manager at Aecom.


Consulting
PondelWilkinson Inc., an investor relations and corporate communications advisory firm, has hired Laurie Berman as senior vice president, and promoted Robert Jaffe to senior vice president. Berman previously was senior vice president at the Financial Relations Board; Jaffe served as vice president of PondelWilkinson.


Jones & Stokes, an environmental consulting firm, has hired Christopher Hetzel as architectural historian of the Los Angeles office. Hetzel was formerly senior preservation planner and architectural historian at Historic Resources Group LLC.


Palladeo, a design consultancy with offices in Glendale and Chino, has announced the following promotions: Andrea Trowbridge was named vice president of corporate strategy and human resources; Glenn Markwardt was named director of product design and engineering for the Create division, the company's Glendale fixture and d & #233;cor division; Chris Sorenson was named director of product drafting at Create; Gene Wilson was named director of field operations for Palladeo Construct, the company's construction division in Chino; John Gibbon was named senior estimator of Palladeo Construct. Trowbridge was previously director of human resources, Markwardt was manager of production design and engineering at Create, Sorenson was director of production design at the Envision division, Wilson was project manager at Construct and Gibbon was estimator at Construct.


Health Care
Rodney B. Hanners has been appointed senior vice president and chief operating officer of Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Hanners formerly had been director of hospital operations at Los Angeles Medical Center.


Tenet California, a unit of Tenet Healthcare Corp., has named Mark Korth chief executive at Lakewood Regional Medical Center. Korth had served as chief operating officer at Los Alamitos Medical Center.


Health Net of California has promoted Lori (Lichtig) Scott to vice president of mid-market commercial sales and hired Gina Stassi as vice president of PPO product management. Scott was vice president of sales operations at Health Net; Stassi previously was senior director of product and marketing at Blue Shield of California.


Marketing
Mec Entertainment, a new division of Mediaedge: cia, has appointed Chet Fenster to managing partner of director of content creation. Fenster recently was head of program development at Fuse music network.


Emak Worldwide Inc., a global marketing firm based in Los Angeles, has hired Peter Boutros as chief executive for Logistix Worldwide. Jon Kramer was named president of integrated marketing services at Emak Worldwide. Boutros recently served as chief operating officer at Creata Co.; Kramer was chief executive for Logistix Worldwide.


EPrize, an interactive promotion agency, has named Tom Smart as vice president of business development for their Los Angeles office. Smart recently was chief operating officer at CMC Interative.


Media
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has named Alan Perris as chief operating officer. Perris previously was executive vice president of business development at Entertainment Media Works.


Chris McGurk has been named senior advisor of new ventures at IDT Entertainment in Burbank. McGurk was previously vice chairman and chief operating officer at MGM.


Beverly Hills-based MRB Productions has named Grace Silverstein West Coast rep. Before joining the company, Silverstein was executive producer and sales rep for McGuffin Films.


Paramount Home Entertainment has appointed Dina Marovich as vice president of media. Marovich recently was communications strategy director and partner at the Los Angeles office of mediaedge: cia.


Michael Roberts has been named executive vice president of current programming of the CW network. Roberts previously was executive vice president of current programming at the WB.


Cindy Armstrong has been named chief executive of Los Angeles-based Webzen America, a global online interactive entertainment company, North American operations. Armstrong recently was vice president of business development for Sony Online Entertainment.


New Wave Home Entertainment, a DVD special features company, has promoted Mike Meadows to president. Meadows was vice president of the television production department.

Joe DeFur has been elected to the board of the Autry National Center. DeFur continues his position as head of Wells Fargo's private client services for the greater Los Angeles area.

Five Acres, a child abuse and neglect prevention treatment center, has named Josef Farrar as a member of its board. Farrar is an executive managing director at Studley, a commercial real estate company.


Conrad N. Hilton Foundation has appointed Edmund J. Cain as vice president of grant programs. Cain formerly was director of the global development initiative at the Carter Center.

Colliers International has hired James D. Wallman as associate vice president for their Century City office. Wallman formerly was senior vice president at Sachse Real Estate Co. in Beverly Hills.


Dudley & Associates, a Pasadena-based commercial real estate and construction search firm, has hired Jon A. Torgeson as senior vice president. Torgeson recently was senior vice president of North American sales at PropertyFirst.com.


Bixby Land Co. has appointed William "Bill" Halford as president and chief executive. Halford was previously president of the Irvine Co.'s office/industrial property division.


KUDOS

The Los Angeles Section of the National Council of Jewish Women gave Rose Norton the Hannah G. Solomon Award for contributions that have changed the lives of others for the better. Remarkable Woman awards were given to Robin Kramer, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's chief of staff, and Bettina Kurowski, a pioneer in the HMO industry known for her aid in improving the quality of cancer care.


Rand Corp. has received the U.S. Green Building Council's Gold Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for the environmentally sensitive design of its headquarters in Santa Monica. Rand also received the Los Angeles Architectural Award. Other recipients were Getty Center, LEED Certified; Sun Valley Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library, LEED Gold; Lake View Terrace Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library, LEED Platinum; and Caltrans District 7 Headquarters Replacement Building, LEED Silver.


Edward Casey, managing partner at Weston Benshoof Rochefort Rubalcava & MacCuish LLP, was awarded the William Harkness Award by the Los Angeles Headquarters Association. Casey was presented the honor in acknowledgement of his longstanding activity and dedication to the organization.


The Initiative for a Competitive Inner City has selected Shreyans Parekh, co-founder and vice president of marketing of Koyal Wholesale Inc., a provider of wedding and party supplies, as one of the 25 recipients for the "Growing up CEO" award. The award recognizes the success of men and women under the age of 21 heading inner city companies across the country.


Building Design & Construction magazine has selected Tania Van Herle, and Patrick Tighe as winners of "40 under 40" competition. Van Herle is a principal at Harley Ellis Devereaux and K-12 Studio director. Tighe leads Tighe Architecture in Santa Monica. Herle and Tighe were chosen from 448 nominees as rising stars in the architecture, engineering and construction sectors.


The Louise Held Award for Excellence in Nursing has been presented to Mary T. Corgan of Cedars Sinai Medical Center; Jody L. Franzen, Rebekah D. Heckathorne, and Bill C. Kenny of The Children's Hospital of Los Angeles; Katherine R. Hurley of Little Company of Mary; and Nicole A. Pukall of St. John's Medical Center. The award is given to honor talented new nurses amid the acute nursing shorting in Los Angeles.


John A. "Jack" Scott, president and chief operating officer at Pasadena-based Parsons Corp., has been chosen for the 2006 Dwight Look College of Engineering Outstanding Alumni Honor Award. The College of Engineering at Texas A & M; University awards alumni for contributions of leadership, services, and support.
