Walt Disney Co.’s Buena Vista Music Group said Tuesday it signed a licensing deal with EMI Music for the U.K., Continental Europe, South Africa and the Middle East.

The deal, which replaces an expiring license agreement EMI had with Warner Music Group Inc., allows EMI to release the full Disney catalogue of music on its various labels, including Angel Music Group, Blue Note, Capitol, EMI Records, EMI Classics, Mute, Virgin and Parlophone.

The companies did not disclose the terms of the deal, which will include music from over 75 years of Disney soundtracks such as “Snow White,” “Mary Poppins” and “The Lion King.”

EMI has already scheduled the release of the soundtracks to the upcoming films “The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe” and “Chicken Little, as well as the TV hit “Desperate Housewives” for later this year through its commercial marketing and TV division.

The Buena Vista Music Group encompasses recordings by Hollywood Records, Walt Disney Records, Lyric Street Records and Mammoth Records. Artists currently signed to Burbank-based Disney’s Hollywood Records will be released by London-based EMI’s newly formed Angel Music Group.
