Disney, Pixar Eyeing ‘Chicken Little’ Success

Walt Disney Co. and Pixar are waiting to see how much box-office success the animated film “Chicken Little” has before starting serious talks about extending an agreement for Disney to continue distribution of Pixar films, the New York Times reported.


A good reception would suggest Disney doesn’t need to depend on Pixar to create new animated characters, the Times said. Pixar might gain leverage if the movie isn’t well-received.


Detailed negotiations between Disney and Pixar are likely to begin in mid-November and could be wrapped up by late December or early January, the newspaper said.
