ConocoPhillips said Wednesday its third-quarter profit surged 89 percent, reflecting strong prices for crude oil and natural gas.
The nation’s third-largest integrated oil and gas company reported net income of $3.8 billion ($2.68 per share), topping the average analyst estimate of $2.57 per share. A year ago, the company had net income of $2 billion ($1.43). Revenue rose 43 percent to $49.66 billion.
