Oil Seeks Signals on Demand

Oil steadied near $60 a barrel on Tuesday as investors sought new proof of slower fuel use in the U.S. after Hurricane Wilma bypassed oil and gas fields in the Gulf of Mexico.


Light crude traded 27 cents lower to $60.05 a barrel by late morning in Europe, following a loss of 31 cents on Monday and extending a slide from a $70.85 record in late August. London Brent crude shed 25 cents to $57.99 a barrel.
