Computer Sciences Lures Buyout Firms

Shares of Computer Sciences Corp. soared as much as 18 percent after The Wall Street Journal reported that private equity companies are looking to buy the El Segundo-based computer-services company.


The firms looking at Computer Sciences include Texas Pacific Group, Warburg Pincus and Blackstone Group. Takeover plans are in the early stages of development and no solid deal may materialize, the Journal said. The private equity companies are also exploring how to break up the business as well as sharing the company with a strategic player.


Shares of Computer Sciences gained 11.2 percent to settle at $50.41 on Monday.
