Lexmark Slashes Profit Outlook

Lexmark International Inc. on Tuesday slashed its profit outlook and its shares plummeted, as the computer printer-maker took a hit from aggressive pricing by its larger rival Hewlett-Packard Co.


Lexmark now expects third-quarter earnings, excluding the costs of its previously announced job cuts, of 40 cents to 50 cents per share less than half of what it forecast in July.
