- Molina Healthcare Inc.

reported third-quarter net income of $6.8 million (24 cents per share), compared with $16.4 million (59 cents) for the like period a year earlier. Revenue for the Long Beach-based managed care organization rose 29.6 percent to $428.6 million.


The company now expects full-year earnings of 75 cents to 82 cents per share, up from previous guidance of 73 cents to 80 cents per share.


& #8226; OSI Systems Inc. reported a first-quarter net loss of $4.2 million (26 cents per share) for the 12 weeks ended Sept. 30, compared with income of $1.3 million (8 cents) for the like period a year earlier. Revenue for the Hawthorne-based security and inspection systems manufacturer rose 16 percent to $101.9 million.


The company expects second-quarter revenue of $111 million to $114 million.


- Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. reported third-quarter net income of $51 million (12 cents per share), compared with a loss of $98.3 million (23 cents) for the like period a year earlier. Revenue for the L.A.-based entertainment company fell 1.4 percent to $171.6 million.


The company said nearly all of the net income and earnings per share in the third quarter was a result of the recognition of a $51.1 million income tax benefit.


- Entravision Communications Corp. reported a third-quarter net loss of $12.8 million (10 cents per share), compared with income of $3.7 million (a loss of 5 cents) for the like period a year earlier. Revenue for the Santa Monica-based Spanish-language media company rose 8 percent to $75.5 million.


Third-quarter results include a loss of $28 million related to refinancing of a former credit facility and the completion of a tender offer for outstanding $225 million senior subordinated notes.


- Youbet.com Inc. reported third-quarter net income of $1.8 million (5 cents per share), compared with $4 million (12 cents) for the like period a year earlier. Net revenue for the Woodland Hills-based online horse-race wagering company rose 38.9 percent to $8.1 million.


Third-quarter net income included a charge of $200,000 (1 cent per share) related to a compensation charge.


- STAAR Surgical Co. reported a third-quarter net loss of $3.3 million (13 cents per share), compared with a loss of $2.3 million (11 cents) for the like period a year earlier. Revenue for the Monrovia-based ophthalmic products developer fell 4 percent to $11.6 million.


- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. reported fourth-quarter net income of $42.8 million (72 cents per share) for the 12 weeks ended Sept. 30, compared with $30.5 million (53 cents) for the like period a year earlier. Revenue for the Pasadena-based engineering company rose 25 percent to $1.5 billion.


For 2006, the company expects an earnings growth rate of 15 percent.


- 3D Systems Corp. reported third-quarter net income of $1.1 million (5 cents per share), compared with $2.1 million (12 cents) for the like period a year earlier. Revenue for the Valencia-based 3-D printing developer rose 9 percent to $32.3 million.


- Salem Communications Corp. reported third-quarter net income of $3.4 million (13 cents per share), compared with $2.6 million (10 cents) for the like period a year earlier. Third-quarter results included a $500,000 loss on disposal of assets. Revenue for the Camarillo-based Christian radio broadcasting company rose 8.4 percent to $53.8 million.


The company expects fourth-quarter earnings of between 11 cents and 13 cents per share and net broadcasting revenue of $51.5 million to $52 million. Full-year net broadcasting revenue is anticipated to be between $202 million and $202.5 million.
