Stocks barely budged Monday as Wall Street steadied itself after last week’s losses and waited for the Federal Reserve’s meeting on interest rates.
In late afternoon trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 1.00, or 0.01 percent, at 10,296.84 after falling nearly 290 points Thursday and Friday combined. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index was up 0.18, or 0.02 percent, at 1,191.75. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 8.13, or 0.4 percent, at 2,045.14.
