RBZ, a West Los Angeles-based CPA and consulting firm, has promoted Yunna Barats and Stephen Rickert to principals and Joseph Bayewitch and Carolyn Hansen to directors. Barats, Rickert and Bayewitch were previously managers at RBZ, while Hansen was a firm administrator.

Redondo Beach-based Northrop Grumman Space Technology promoted Paul Gregory to vice president of human resources. Gregory was previously controller in the space technology sector. Also, David L. Ryan was hired as vice president of payloads and sensors for the space technology sector. He was previously vice president and general manager at Boeing Space and Intelligence Systems.

Aerospace Corp. appointed Peter B. Teets, retired president and chief operating officer of Lockheed Martin Corp., to its board of trustees. Rami R. Razouk has been promoted to senior vice president of the engineering and technology group from associate general manager of the space support division. Lawrence T. Greenberg has been appointed vice president of technology from his previous position of vice president of laboratory operations for the engineering and technology group.

B.D. Fox & Friends Inc., a Santa Monica-based advertising firm, promoted Kristine Kreska to vice president of the marketing and distribution division. She was previously director of business development.

Creative Domain, a Hollywood-based entertainment marketing, branding and advertising agency, has named Karen Crawford vice president of theatrical print. Crawford was previously vice president of creative print advertising for Artisan Entertainment in Santa Monica.

Mosaic Capital has named David A. Cohn, David J. Herman and Charles H. Troe as managing directors in its new West Los Angeles office.

Comerica Bank has named Alfredo Padilla assistant vice president of corporate communications for its El Segundo-based western division. Padilla was most recently public relations manager at Washington Mutual.

Hamilton Group, a national commercial finance firm, hired Richard Kort and Robert Kort as regional vice presidents of its new west coast regional office in Los Angeles. Richard was previously chief executive of Bibby Financial Services in the Westlake Village and his brother Robert was vice president of marketing for Bibby.

Superior Galleries Inc., a Beverly Hills-based dealer and auctioneer of rare coins and collectibles, appointed Anthony D. Friscia to its board. Friscia is an independent entertainment industry consultant. He previously served as vice president of free television contract administration for Warner Bros. International Television Distribution Inc.

Southern California Edison has named Doug Kim general manager of Edison Carrier Solutions. Kim was promoted from his position as senior manager in Southern California Edison's resource planning and strategy group.

Health Care
Creative Computer Applications Inc., a Calabasas-based healthcare information technology and service provider, appointed William W. "Bill" Blair vice president of sales and Douglas A. Collie as imaging product manager. Blair was previously vice president of Sysmex USA in Tucson and Collie was vice president of InStar Systems in Colorado Springs.

Herbalife Ltd., a Los Angeles-based company that sells weight management and personal care products, appointed Michele Crocker to the newly created post of vice president of organizational development. Crocker was most recently vice president of distributor services in North America for Herbalife.

The California Association of Physician Groups' newly created employer advisory council has confirmed Henry R. Loubet as a new member. Loubet is chief strategy officer at Torrance-based Keenan, a privately held brokerage firm.

Hythiam Inc., a Los Angeles-based health care services management company, named Arlandis Rush as vice president of government programs. Rush was formerly director of marketing, development and membership of the National Association of Drug Court Professionals.

Countrywide Insurance Group, a Calabasas-based insurance agency and commercial brokerage firm, hired Brett Borisoff as president of its commercial insurance division. Borisoff was previously president of Armstrong/Robitaille in Orange County.

International law firm Reed Smith hired Andrew E. Paris as a partner in its Century City office. Paris was previously a partner at the Los Angeles office of Kirkland & Ellis.

Brown Winfield & Inc., a Los Angeles-based law firm, has added Gordon K. Eng, who brings his client roster to the firm. He previously had his own private practice, the Law Office of Gordon K. Eng, in Torrance.

Greenberg Traurig LLP named Carole A. Quinn of counsel in the firm's Los Angeles office. Quinn was previously an associate at Fitzpatrick Cella Harper & Scinto in Orange County.

Construction law firm Peckar & Abramson P.C. named Mary A. Salamone as a partner in its Los Angeles office. Salamone was previously a partner in the Century City office of Gibbs Giden Locher & Turner LLP.

DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary US LLP hired Nicolas Morgan as of counsel in its securities litigation practice group in its Los Angeles office. Morgan was previously senior trial counsel in the enforcement division of the SEC's Pacific regional office in Los Angeles.

Ropers Majeski Kohn & Bentley has expanded its international practice by naming Francisco Aparicio and Duccio Mortillaro of counsel in its Los Angeles office. Aparicio was previously a partner at Kulik Gottesman Mouton & Siegel LLP while Mortillaro was of counsel at Silver & Freedman.

Real estate law firm Pircher Nichols & Meeks added June Dash as an associate in its Los Angeles office. Dash was previously an associate in the Washington D.C. office of Steptoe and Johnson LLP.

The Los Angeles Times named John T. O'Loughlin senior vice president of marketing, planning and development. O'Loughlin had been general manager of the Chicago Tribune's RedEye edition since 2002.

Primedia Enterprises, the Los Angeles-based licensing and merchandising division of Primedia Inc., appointed Julie Smartz as director of retail development. Smartz was senior manager at Mattel brands consumer products division in Los Angeles.

LA's Best, a Los Angeles-based non-profit that promotes after-school programming for children, named Richard Hoff senior director of development and planning. Hoff was previously director of development in leadership giving at Save the Children in West Port, Conn.

LA Inc., the Convention and Visitors Bureau, elected Stanley E. Washington chairman of the board. Washington is western region vice president and general manager for American Express U.S. Commercial Card.

Macerich Co., a Santa Monica-based real estate investment trust, hired Gregory E. Zimmerman as vice president of real estate. Zimmerman was vice president and development director at Rouse Co., where he worked on projects in Las Vegas and San Antonio, Texas.

Aames Investment Corp., a Los Angeles-based real estate investment trust, hired John A Vella as president and chief operating officer. Vella was chief sales officer for Option One Mortgage in Irvine.

Re/Max Commercial appointed Stephen Lampe as executive vice president of its new regional commercial office in Torrance. Lampe was previously an investment property broker with Marcus & Millichap of Los Angeles.

Phoenix Realty Group, a private real estate firm that creates and manages smart growth equity funds, hired Constantine Papanicolaou as an analyst in its Los Angeles office. Papanicolaou was previously a software engineer at

Johnson Capital, a real estate investment banking and commercial mortgage brokerage firm, promoted James Magowan to director in the Los Angeles office. Magowan had been an analyst with the equity group of the company.

Kilroy Realty Corp., a Los Angeles-based real estate investment trust, has promoted Heidi Roth as senior vice president and controller. Roth was previously vice president of internal reporting and strategic planning at the company.
