General Electric Co. on Friday said its second-quarter earnings climbed 24 percent as all 11 of its business segments posted at least double-digit percentage profit growth, prompting the company to raise its full-year earnings forecast.
The company, which is involved in a wide range of businesses from building jet engines and power plants to owning the NBC television network, said net income rose to $4.65 billion (44 cents per share), compared with $3.75 billion (36 cents) a year earlier.
