News Corp. in $6 Billion Deal for Rest of Fox

Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. Monday said it would buy the remaining 18 percent of its Fox Entertainment Group Inc. unit in a stock swap worth roughly $6 billion, a move that would simplify the media conglomerate’s structure.


The exchange offer would solidify Murdoch’s control over the Fox assets which include the Fox broadcast network as well as Fox news and sports channels, the Twentieth Century Fox movie studio and a controlling interest in DirecTV.
