The dollar eased back slightly Monday after last week’s major gains against the euro as markets looked ahead to the midweek release of U.S. trade data.

Early in New York, the euro rose to $1.3104, up about 0.4 percent.

Against the yen, the dollar slipped to 104.29 yen, down 0.5 percent.
